Constance Wibaut
Constance Wibaut (1920 - 2014) can righteously be named a Grande Dame in fashion. For twenty years she was the fashion editor of Elsevier magazine. She became famous for her illustrations of the Parisian fashion shows in the 1950s and 60s. After 1972 she continued her initial career as a sculptor. During her time as a fashion illustrator she learned to portray human figures and clothing in fine detail and with great movement. These characteristics are also visible in her three-dimensional work. Relaxed but graceful poses are typical for her torsos. She mostly worked in ceramics and bronze.
