Laura Eckert

Laura Eckert was born in Trier in 1983. After graduating from high school, she moved to Leipzig. Here and at the same time in Halle, she started university studies in ethnology, art history and sociology (2003-2005). She then followed an art education course with Magdalena Grebber at the College of Art & Design in Halle (2005-2006). A specialization in sculpture under the watchful eye of Bernd Göbel (2006-2008) is her next step on her long training path. After she has mastered the basic skills, she specializes in sculpting figures with Bruno Raetsch (2008-2011). In 2011 she graduated and in 2012 she took part in her first exhibition at KUNST direkt in Mainz. Since 2012 she has her own studio in Leipzig. After her graduation exhibition in 2011, she participated in five other group exhibitions.
